A hands-on, minds-on electrifying program for Grade 5 and 6 students.

  • Two sessions covering static electricity and simple electric circuits, including informal professional learning for teachers.
  • Students use balloons, PVC tubing, fur and wool to investigate the nature of electrical charge, and make foil shapes fly through the air using Van de Graaff generators.
  • Students build a fundamental electric circuit, which they apply to create a 'Dancing Alien Robot' using an unbalanaced motor, CD and paperclips.

This program can be booked in conjunction with the Primary Mission to the M.A.R.S. Base to make a complete day of activities for two classes. Contact VSSEC to discuss possibilities.
