The NASA International Internship Program is an intensive resident internship program  for university undergraduate and graduate students interested in pursuing professional and leadership careers in space-related fields. Its main goal is to help guide future leaders by giving them a glimpse of how the whole system works.

The current NASA International Internship Program runs through the Ames Research Center.

These programs are normally only available to US students, but through the awarding of this prize an Australian student will spend a minimum of ten weeks working directly with a principle investigator on a current NASA project At Ames Research Center laboratories.
