VSSEC hosts more than 10,000 student program visits each year and reaches a further three and a half thousand Victorian school children by means of its Outreach program.
Teacher responses are spontaneous and laudatory, reflecting students’ and their own appreciation of the diverse, stimulating and innovative programs offered and of their delivery.

We had the most fantastic day. Thank you!
Oak Park Primary
Grade 5 and 6 students had fun and learnt how to program robots around a model of the surface of Mars. Mougadam of 6B said that he had a better understanding of robots after completing the program, Nalithi of 6B, wrote, “I want to know more about how to program X and how to make the robot”, while Haadi learnt how to use a new website, Scratch/Tickle. Students and teachers were fascinated and challenged to complete the course.

They absolutely loved it – as did the teachers.

Just wanted to say a big thanks for the opportunity to come to VSSEC last week … A lot of them continued to talk about the different things they had learnt throughout camp.

Yes, we LOVED LOVED LOVED the idea of the Outreach Programs! … I’ll definitely be looking into the programs with other staff members … is there a limit to what our school can access from you guys? Obviously spread throughout the year! Because you seem to have wonderful programs and the staff that ran things yesterday were wonderful – our kids appreciated how they ran the sessions, how they spoke to them, their sense of humour. Our kids don’t get to experience this kind of hands on stuff much in their lives … Going yesterday to VSSEC got students interested into Science as being a hands-on thing that can be so interesting and engaging – and we will be having discussions about the links to careers in these avenues … our kids were amazed!
Bethal Primary School
Thanks Vicky and to all the staff there. We had the “best day ever” according to the students, staff and parent helpers. So many of students have come and told me they are keen to study science in the future, it’s positively overwhelming. My class has instructed me to tell you

Thank you again for providing an excellent program for our students. They thoroughly enjoyed it and were talking about it the whole way back to Adelaide. You have a great team there at VSSEC, so please thank them all again on our behalf.
South Australian Space Camp
lovely to meet you and the staff at the VSSEC on Friday. I was telling teacher friends how impressed I was with the facility and more than that, with your educational approach!
